-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 732352 28 Jan 05:44 rsync*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 211860 29 Jan 20:19 rsync_orig*

geez...time to sift through this mess ONCE AGAIN after believing the readme which says apple's rsync WILL NOT BE TOUCHED!

get it together guys...we rsyncx should exist as rsyncx and should be evoked by using rsyncx. apple's rsync SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED!!!

The Apple installed version of rsync is from rsync.samba.org, not Apple.
To remove the RsyncX version of rsync - which is a binary version of the source from www.opendarwin.org
(a site maintained by Apple employees and external contributors):

#sudo rm /usr/bin/rsync
#sudo mv /usr/bin/rsync_orig /usr/bin/rsync
