You know, it would be nice if people mailed me directly about problems, rather then just posting it here, where I don't even look, except tonight almost by accident. There was a problem with the 1.5 archive that was up briefly, which broke the saving of settings. This has been corrected. If you got that bad version (i.e. your settings are not there the next time) just redownload. People downloading after 1/21 will not have this problem. As for not launching, or getting strange results (the gif thing is a caveat in the readme) please email me so I can get it to work for you! I am very responsive to emails, just ask the people that request features and... here's the shocker, get them! But I can't help you if I can't work with you to see what you are seeing!
