...I doubt it will ever support iCal and AddressBook, being cross platform. So the mail module doesn't hook into a OS supplied resource without clugging around with importing. For me; that is a shame.

here is what "it has it built in" misses: does Moz connect with iSync? It has a built-in addy but doesn't sync with my palm and phone. I want my iSight to play with my addy book, does Moz's built-in addy do that?See the point? I has an implimentation but not the one that I would call the focus of the Mac dev community.

The main reason it doesn't support iCal and Adressbook, is that it has the same features built in.Maybe not in all compiles of the browser, but you can always compile it yourself... :-)
