that has been around since version 6.0. If you double-click on a template to open a document, it creates a "copy" in the same folder. If it's a template you use frequently, you will wind up with a folder full of "copies" of the original template.

Still happening with this latest release and Panther. Had the problem with 10.1 and Jaguar as well.

C'mon Apple, you should know better.

Still has a problem... - jwoolson

That is the behvior of Apple's so-called Stationary files. You can make any file stationary with the Get Info pane. When the file is opened it ALWAYS makes a duplicate file with "copy" appended to the end. I do not use them, ever.
