Existing users, 
Feature request, since you implemented the transparency, it might be a nice idea to fade-in the screen saver starting from 100% transparant to the user setting! even more elegant.
Oh, and Bubiherzi: offcourse your screen stay's black with password protection, otherwise it wouldn't protect much now would it...

nice and elegant but it does not work with passwordprotection on - bubiherzi
screensavers are not only for protecting from viewing what is behind.if there is the option of transparency - what do you think is it for -
for example just to let my son view a movie while im still sleeping, but not to let him into the compi just when the movie is over.
there is a screensaver which is called basic transparent. here you have the same possibility. it dimms the screen ten percent. to turn the saver of, you need the password. that worked for me with jaguar, but not with panther anymore. the same problem here with blanc.
or in the case i have an osx server, i can protect the server, but i and others can watch the stat-windows working without loosing protection.
