Am also disappointed with the press release on VT -- higher standards, please. But the whiners here should realize that the problem *may* be you! We have users on 10.2.8 and 10.1.5 with no problem using autolaunch. We have users running mixed networks of OS X, OS 9, Win98 and WinXP Pro -- all machines get backed up just fine. I'm not a Dantz employee -- I'm an independent consultant. The problems you describe are likely bad OS installs or other conflicts. Venting here with star ratings to bash Dantz does no one a favor. Think before you type. Yeah, they are arrogant and over-priced, and they've lost sales and good will for charging on the point updates -- stick to the valid complaints.

And they delivered goods that simply didn't work on my standard flatpanel iMac with its standard internal CD-writer. I contacted them about it. They confirmed that the problem existed but they said the drive was NOT supported. While the Dantz-website clearly claims that it IS supported. They suggested I would have to try to get a firmware upgrade for the CD-drive. Which means (as firmware upgrades are only available for PC's) moving the drive from the iMac to a PC and back. This is not an option with a flatpanel. You can't just open it... :-(
When 5.1 came along I asked them again whether this version would solve my problem. They said they didn't know. I had to try it myself. They also said I would have to pay for the upgrade. At that point I wrote off my investment.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm not whining but warning people. For a bad product from a company that takes your money without giving something in return. YMMV
