Product Platform: WinNT,Win95,Win98,WinME,WinXP,Win2k

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

Version 2.1 creates a problem for 3G iPods working with Windows. While docked it has become impossible to use the iPod, with a constant OK to disconnect frozen on the poor little pod. This is obviosly a bug since the same behavior does not occur with Macs. Though there are some good features introduced you should hold off updating if you have a 3G iPod and you use it with Windows.

Windows Problem - getmc

Yep, my iPod has been scr#wed since I updated to the latest verison of iTunes and the Updater. That will teach me! I am going to uninstall all iPod/iTunes related software on my PC, uninstall the drive via Device Manager and then start from scratch with the disc that came with my iPod. I'll see how that goes. (Gee I miss my iPod ...)

Nano Updater Problem - tigger22

Warning. Using the updater from Apple may render your ipod useless unless you reformat it to fat32 in device manager or with a separate utility afterward.

Nano is toast! - baryonyx

I logged into itunes last night and was prompted to update my ipod, so i figured, why not!? BAD IDEA!! My computer had to be shut down immediately due to problems, then my laptops internal alarm went off!! Ever since, my ipod is useless. there is no music on it, its not recgonized in windows or itunes. ive un/ installed itunes times with an older version since it wont even let me dl version 7. Called apple today and they were pretty much useless. It was 90 mins on the phone ill never get back. Im heading to an apple store in about 2 weeks and ill take it with me then. Im tempted to pitch a fit and just ask for my money back. Orrr if i could swindle one of the new colored nanos, that would work. Long story short, I might as well use my nano for a paperweight, cuz thats all its good for now.
