All is not lost....

Product Platform: MacOS,MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: NO

It won't run in Panther, and if like me, you have a machine that won't boot OS 9, all is not lost.

Just install the program, then right-click on the icon and select 'Show package contents.' Then go to Contents --> MacOS and get info on ClickNDesign3D, and check "Open in the Classic environment." Then, put that generic-looking icon in the Dock. You must click that icon to open the program. The original icon will try to open the program in Panther, which currently does not work.

But....from now on, the program will open in Classic. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Thanks for the fix for now as I had to get some labels made in a hurry and was not happy when I couldn't open Click N Design in Panther 10.3.2.

Thank you so much! Fortunately I have a trackball with a "right click", but for those who don't have that option - how do you "right click" to get the menu to find package contents?
Thanks
Marie

All is not lost....1 button mouse - lushbudget`

The alternative to 'right clicking' on a one button Mac system is to hold down the <CTRL> key while clicking the mouse. This will open the Contextual Menu associated with the item your cursor is hovering over. From this menu you will find the "..package contents," menu option.

This did not work for me. First the new icon looked to open my scanner, then gave me an error message #2006 that it couldn't get string for that error? Any ideas?

Thanks for the help; works for me. Seems rather bogus, though, that the 'Click' people offer no info about whether, much less when, they'll be upgrading this.

Re: Fix for Click N Design - vincentrubino

Wow! Thanks for that fix! How did u figure that one out? This is such a good program and I haven't been able to run it since installing Panther. Even bought another Mac based label software, "disclabel" which is absolutely terrible comparatively. Thank you for that work-around for CLick n Design...Has anyone at this software company that originated it considered updating for Panther? This program could be very valuable to them
Thanks.

Thankyou-bryanganey!!!! This fix is great. I have been trying to figure this one out all day. Thanks to you and my persistance, it has paid off. This software is pretty good for creating cd labels etc. I already had some existing labels backed up, and since I moved up to a Mac G5 from a Mac G4, i am now back in business. I to cannot understand why CD STOMPER is not all over this regarding Panther OS 10.3.4
I have made them aware of this issue. Hopefully they will be responsive.
Thankyou again for saving my software from the trash. motorheadz2 7/18/04
I would love to know what type of labeling software the record companies are using. If i had that, then I could produce some serious professional products.

I read the suggested fix for the Click'N Design -- i.e., run it in Classic 9. I had been using this software on OS X 10.2.8 for some time. Does this mean I will have to reinstall the package and start all over so I can run it in the Clasic Environment.

Hi -

Just wanted to let everyone know that you can change that generic looking icon to the normal icon. Just select Get Info (control I) on the original Click'N Design icon, click on the icon and copy it (control C). Then select Get Info on the generic icon, click on the icon and paste (control V)....Just in case anyone's interested!

I never saw the generic icon, and all I had to do was drag the icon from the folder to the dock and it remained the same. I then opened the program just to make sure and it works fine. Thanks a bunch since I really liked this software.

Help...
I love this program, but I can't get anything to print. I followed Bryan's instructions. Does anyone have a printer fix? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I've tried this fix several times, but when I click on the CND icon that I have locked into Classic, it still lights up the newer icon and then quickly closes the program. Any suggestions? Should I attempt a re-install?

The work around for Click n Design worked for os 10.3.9 but now I've upgraded to ox 10.4.2 and tried the work around and still can't open C n D in classic. Is there an additional fix or am I SOL?

Actually, there is a way to get it to work in Tiger. Open package contents, then open macos folder, then make an alias of ClickNDesign3D app. take this alias, and put it in the apple menu items folder that is within the system 9 folder. -kelms
