I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Speed Download on OS 9 (up to v1.9.9) -- with it I can download a 700Mb file pretty quickly with my DSL line. But trying the v2.1.2 with OS X 10.2.8 for a couple of downloads 100-500Mb and it just dogs. I had to force quit it since it just sat there after stopping/canceling a download. It also seems that the developer and supporters of this program can't take criticism... they're probably wet behind the ears!
