This update to Xcode that is available through Software Update is only a partial update to the full set of Xcode tools!

If you want the full version 1.1 of Xcode, you'll need to log into ADC and download the entire version 1.1 CD. (588.7 MB available in 30 MB segments)

Don't be fooled into thinking you've got a complete update!

Wrong - das@doit.wisc.edu

The Xcode 1.1 Update, applied to an already installed Xcode 1.0.x, gets you the SAME THING as installing the full Xcode 1.1. The full Xcode 1.1 installer is simply posted for convenience for new installations.

Right - Mark Douma

Um, no, I was right, not wrong.

The really sucky thing Apple did was fail to make it clear that the Update was only a partial update. Instead, they brilliantly mentioned in the FULL install CD that the Update was only a partial update.

If you looked at Interface Builder after applying this "Update", you'll notice that it's still at version 2.4.0, while the full CD installer would give you 2.4.1, and a whole lot more.

If you subscribe to Apple's Xcode mailing list, there was a huge thread about this and how it was never made clear.

If you notice with version 1.2 of Xcode, they refrained from putting out a partial update.

I'd provide links to the PDF's which you can download, but I don't think it'd work since it's an https: secure connection. You'll have to log into ADC yourself and check it out.

Hope this helps...
