I wouldn't say that this bug is serious. Annoying at times yes. However, it only affects combo boxes of Cocoa applications. This makes it sound like a bug in Cocoa's NSComboBox to me.

I personally hardly every run into Combo Boxes in my every day work. But that's just me. A better workaround than the one posted buy Wacom Germany is click on the text field of the combo-box, then press then down arrow key. Now you can mouse to the menu selection you want. (NOTE: The wacom pen or mouse must remain on the tablet until you finish your selection. If you take the device off the tablet, the combo-box menu will go back up.)
