Yet another developer determines to not find out about the game before releasing an app
This manifestation goes back to around 1983 when the first /mahjonng/ game game out. The difference was that the original author in his readme file mentioned that he never played the real mahjongg as a child but played a kind of matching game upon which his program was based.
since then dozens of ignorant developers have replicated his game --- not that any of them have not produced a game that many people enjoy --- i just wished they did not advertise their ignorance

this isn't the first time that a developer has made a game in this style and called it MahJongg. ever play Hoyle Board Games by Sierra Entertainment? that far predates this one. i agree with the other comment—if you're a MahJongg purist then this is not for you, but for the rest of us ignorant, unwashed commoners this is much more entertaining than the original. cut the man some slack, jack.Monday, June 28 2004 @ 06:46 AM PDT

You know, if you ask me real mahjong is a boring game and if I had 3 mates round, we'd play Monopoly, or better still Mario Kart, it's much more fun.<*Runs away*>
