Somebody slap me upside the head, please. This is a very nice program and mostly pretty easy to use, but don't fool ones self about the speed. When doing a test backup with the limited unregistered version it can seem pretty fast watching the MB's tick away, but if you have 27 GB of data to back up it's going to take a VERY long time to back up to DV tape, not to mention that verification takes just as long! Still, I needed some way to "permanently" back up my iMovie projects and this fits the bill.
To clarify my own comments - sjonke
When I say it will take a long time to back up 27 GB, it needs to be noted that I didn't have any prior tape backup experience. What I meant was that, coming from a background of backing up to a firewire hard drive, and given that my test backups with the limited demo version "felt" fast, I was somewhat taken aback when I saw that a 27 GB backup was going to take several hours to backup and the same to verify.Reply to This
