Ticker seems to work fine for me, but is there any way to go back to the previous transparent ticker? I see that this one has user-adjustable colours, but it doesn't look nearly as elegant over my desktop as the old transparent one did. How can I re-enable that? Thanks.

mboszko,

You can adjust the transparency of individual elements of the ticker interface separately, by using the slider near the bottom of the color picker window. You should be able to get close to your previous appearance by tweaking these settings.

Unfortunately the "search versiontracker" text box does not yet respect your color or transparency settings, so it will remain white. I hope to fix this before the final release.
