Used Product For: One Year

There are many supporters of Poisoned in particular who object to this app as a matter of an almost religious belief that nobody ought to be able to make money off the back of an open source project (and no, I don't know how they square that with Apple basing the whole of OSX on open source). It is also peculiar that they manage to work up so much moral indignation over apps whose main purpose is to enable theft of music software and pornography. They also say that the developer is surly and unhelpful. I don't know about this, as his app works so well and has such an intuitive interface, that I have had no reason to speak to him and have no need for him to be my friend, but I paid my shareware fee gladly.

This is a huge improvement on Limewire (which also has a nag screen asking for money). The free Poisoned gets more search results, though many will not download and those that do take much longer to come through. MlMac (also free) gets many more usable search results than either of these though most of them also download very slowly and the app itself is in a much earlier and cruder stage of development. It can also use huge chunks of your hard drive and choke your internet connection if you are not careful.

So I still find Acquisition very useful. Thoroughly recommended.
