About a year ago, I used Haxial TextEdit to create Windows autorun files (known to Mac users as "AutoStart") for the multimedia presentation CDs that I created with Director and Flash. It was useful for that task (because I didn't have to start up Virtual PC just to write a 0.5 KB file with Notepad), but beyond that, I couldn't really see myself using it as an actual text editor. Most people would be better served using something like BBEdit (which I use constantly), in that case, if only for the more intuitive user interface.
I stopped using this app when I finally got around to buying an actual Windows PC to do my Windows authoring, usability, and testing. I haven't downloaded or used it since about v1.2, so I can't comment on whether it has gotten uglier or harder to use (though I get that impression from the comments here). But, if you have a specialized use for this app, such as the one that I had, then maybe it'll be of some benefit.
So, I'm grudgingly recommending this app on that very specific basis. Otherwise, stay far away.
