The SE versions of Silverfast only scan in 24 bit. To scan in 48 bit you need the (more expensive) Silverfast Ai. IMHO, not being able to scan in 48 bit isn't worth it. With high bit output support, you'll have a lot more bit depth to work with when you bring the scan into your image editor.

- SilverFast SE (from Version 6.2 on) has the ability to scan into high bit (48bit).
SilverFast SE also has a simple colour mangement.
