Not reasonable, at least even Microsoft gives you 90 days. I bought this product 2 months ago and now I have to pay again. If they would have said, not compatible with Panther and we will charge you again, I would not have bought the software to begin with.

There's no "they" - there's just me. It took me 8 weeks of work, and I'm not giving that away for free. It's hardly my doing that Apple made so many changes in Address Book that the Jaguar script wouldn't work. Address Book is part of the OS, so when we upgrade to OS 10.3 we all get the new version of Address Book, like it or not. The alternative is to stay in Jaguar or - as you say - not to get the new script. $8 is not an enormous amount for people who really find the script useful and if you don't think it's worth that, it makes sense not to get it, sure. For several weeks before Panther was released, I did alert people - at the Kagi website - that there would be a new version for Panther, and that it would be a paid upgrade, so they might prefer to wait. And I did give it away free to people who bought the Jaguar version during October (during which time they might have been using it in Limited Mode instaed of Full). And the new version is full-featured - syncing all contacts - in free Demo mode too. That's enough for free. I didn't know back when you bought it - let alone earlier - that Apple would be making so many changes in Panther. I notice they didn't give OS 10.3 away for free, either, and I'm sure there are some people happy to stay in Jaguar rather than pay $129.
If the changes Apple made had involved just a few days' work on my part, I would have made it a free update, of course. But the new script is fully 50% different from the old one. I had to postpone 3 other projects to get this done, since there were obvously going to be some people, at least, who wanted it. Naturally there'd be a few like you who didn't make too much use of it and don't feel it's worth paying for the upgrade. That's understandable. So far, in two days, 200 people have already upgraded.
