Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

From the "How It Works" section on the developer's web site: " Our server then compiles the alert e-mail and sends it to the e-mail address you have specified during setup. Because the alert e-mail is sent by our server, and not by the stolen mac itself, it does not rely upon SMTP and the delivery is guaranteed." See? It does NOT rely on the an SMTP server itself, it contacts another (via http I presume) and that server sends the e-mail. I'm seriously considering purchasing this software, but I always forget to change my Location setting, so I'm afraid it will report me to myself many times.

Luhmann, read up on it before you say stupid things. - Got Root?

Shamoi, I use this software, it does send a message everytime I switch settings. But I just have a mail rule putting it into a folder named LC and marked as read. I find this very helpful since I use dtdns to forward my domian name to my home system. If for some reason I am away from home and need to update the ip it is forwarded to, all I have to do is check my mail. Better to have to many emails than not the one you need in this case.
