I did a clean install of Panther on my HD. This knocked out all intego products, NetBarrier etc. When I tried to reinstall NetBarrier in Panther, I got repeated kernel panics at startup. Had to replace Jaguar again.
So there is a problem with clean install of Panther and NetBarrier reinstall.

Hum, if you did a clean install and updated the product before the clean install. How can the product be there?Friday, October 31 2003 @ 05:27 AM PST

NetBarrier on 10.3 is dangerous!Whenever Netbarrier was installed on 10.3 the system would crash on startup!
Because Netbarrier installs a daemon and is a extension it cannot be uninstalled by hand. And because you cannot boot uninstall does not do any good even from an external disk.
The only way to bring your system back up is to erase your hard drive.
This has happened on eight other computers already includingn my own.
Aweful situation.

Instead of erasing your hard drive, just boot in Safe Mode by holding the "Shift" key down during Startup and then install tbe 10.3.1 update.Monday, November 03 2003 @ 02:50 AM PST

Forgot to mention, I had done an upgrade of NetBarrier to 10.3.1 before installing Panther.Reply to This
