LaunchBar works but it is more a search tool than a "launcher." Saying that you need only LaunchBar to launch something is like saying Finder should have only a Quick Search box and no actual browser with icons. Not everything has to be searched, and that's the whole point of keeping frequently used items in a dock launcher such as DragThing.

I use LaunchBar as a launcher, not for searching.
In most case I just have to type two letters to open the app I want.
I have hundreds of apps and Dragthing couldn't keep them all while still being useful.
I don't say LB has to replace the Finder!??
I use LB AND the Finder.
I just keep the apps that are opened almost all the time in the Dock.

IMO, LaunchBar is the best launcher. It is far more efficient than DT, except if you use only a few apps, and it that case, do you really need a launcher?
