As I'm working in iCal I noticed that there no longer seems to be an option (or button) for setting default alarms, which is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to my workflow - I don't have time to set multiple alarms over and over again. I could hit the 'default' alarm and have both email and popup alarms set to a predetermined time.
Apple, PLEASE do not tell me you have nixed this important feature - this is a step backward, not forward. The info drawer needs some major rethinking as well.

Default Alarms option removed? - jackthegiantkiller
Yes, but I still have to manually set 2-3 alarms from the pulldown menu for each event instead of just hitting one button using my set defaults.Wednesday, October 08 2003 @ 10:17 AM PDT

Not only that, but does this mean that a new 'default' is going to be added to the list everytime I make a new alarm with a minor change in setting? Eventually the list is going to be 1000 long - and I don't see any option to edit this list! All I want is to edit my default alarms and have ONE button that sets 2-3 alarms at once for one event - like it used to be. Adding an alarm, selecting it from the menu, then adding another alarm, selecting it from the menu, then adding another alarm, etc. is awful. What were they thinking?

The older version is far superior to the new implementation. Will Apple fix this? Lets hope it's taken care of by the time Panther is released.Wednesday, October 08 2003 @ 12:30 PM PDT

That option is still there, though in a different form than we're used to. After the first time you create a new event and define an alarm you will find that those now-defined setting are available as a single choice from the alarm pop-up menu.Reply to This
