Yeah, sure, it's a full implementation of the Smalltalk OS, but why do we need one? We've got Objective-C and Cocoa. I'd rather use OS X than an emulated OS on it.

Pretty pointless really. You need the thing to be able to play stuff made with it.

Cool, but pointless - fl1t

Diordna: You just don't get the point at all. Squeak isn't at all meant for normal user applications. It's meant for research and exploration. Squeak is a wonderful environment to experiment with all sorts of things without having to worry about OS constraints.

Cool, but pointless - jason78

There are commercial applications for squeak. Smalltalk has its benefits, like anything else. It's multiplatform nation is a nice benefit, and for those of us who detest Java that makes it a good choice for a certain variety of application.
