i can't get this to work for the new iPod (the one with the prioprietary firewire cord)...? Is it just me?

I have only an old iPod. So I cannot test if it works. Make sure your iPod is on the desktip (firewire mode)

You may have to set the preferences for the iPod to work as a FireWire drive as enabled in iTunes. That could be the problem.
