2.5.3 worked fine, very briefly -- first time I ran it. All subsequent attempts completely freeze my Mac running 9.2.2. Haven't tried it on the iBook w/ 10.2.6 yet. Hoping it works better there (or at least simply *works*). Reverting back to old version in the meantime.
