Can I use CCC to move a user from a PowerMac to a Powerbook?

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Any advice would be appreciated. I have tried to move files over, but permissions, bookmarks, subgroupings of contacts, etc get lost in the process. I basically want my entire PowerMac HD to just appear on the PowerBook. Both are G4 systems and there is a second user on the PowerMac, who will just remain there and does not need to be moved.

Thanks so much for any help!

This is likely to be quite simple and straightforward. You may though need some guidance. This is not the place for that.

I suggest that you post in the Bombich 'Troubleshooting' forum at:    http://forums.bombich.com/

I clone my OSX G4 hard drive to a firewire drive, and then boot an older G3 Powerbook from the firewire drive. The G3 looks, feels, and works as if it is the G4. I did not clone the G4 to the G3's internal hard drive due to the hard drive's capacity limitations, but there should be no difference from the firewire drive. CCC is just outstanding; buy several firewire or USB external drives, clone your main system to them, put one in a fireproof safe, and you should never have to worry about system or hard disk drive failure again.
