Tried it, it reads in the XML file and insert spaces between every character in the file, plus adds bogus initial characters.

That sounds like the file you're using has a special encoding, like 16-bit unicode. Try opening it in other text editors and see if it behaves there in a strange way too. Where did you create or get that file from?Reply to This
