A pre-evaluation question: Does this product allow users to maintain a master shopping list (for different stores) that is separate from but linked to the recipe ingredients list?
The fatal flaw with virtually every recipe software product I have ever evaluated is that users usually can only get items onto a shopping list by selecting a recipe and then adding those ingredients to the shopping list.
When opening recipe software, I (and I think most people) also need the option to go directly to an alphabetical, master shopping list organized by store and then department (Bakery/Bread/Sandwhich, Bakery/Bread/Dinner Rolls, Bakery/Desserts/Cake, Bakery/Desserts/Pie/Apple, etc..
Minimally, this list should show columns for size, quantity, price, perhaps aisle# and a select checkbox. It should be printable and/or downloadable to a Palm Pilot or other handheld device. Internet or network functionality also would be helpful, so that any family member could edit the shopping list, from home, school or work, but this is not as crucial as the shopping list itself. Also, observations about the need for MastercCook and MealMaster import functions are on target — there are many recipes out there in these formats!
