I used Entourage for years before mail came out. While entourage is great, it just plain sucks when it comes to junk mail. Yeah, I can create filters and other crap like that, but why should I have to work? It's auto detection doesn't work worth a *censored* either. Since I get alot of junk mail, Mail.app is the only choice for me. It clearly beats entourage on this. I already own office, so i'm not even taking into account for the huge cost difference either.

Use Spamfire! It deletes 3000 mail every day on six of our key mail accounts. Updates from the author every day with new rules to filter out spam. The best I have seen and a life saver now!

I also find Entourage to be WONDERFUL at filtering spam. I now get about 40 spam a day, and Entourage usually cataches all 40!. As has been said, it is all a matter of setting the filter sensitivity, a nice feature of Entourage. Even better, Entourage sets spam with a label of "junk mail", so I wrote one simple filter to move all junk mail (based on label) to a spcial folder I named Junk Mail. That gets all the spam out of the way so I can concentrate on my legitimate email. Then, once a day I can scan all my junk mail quickly to see if anything non-junk was captured. I find about 3 non-junk emails per week, a really good record for Entourage if you ask me.Wednesday, September 03 2003 @ 09:06 PM PDT

I find that Entourage nails all of the junk mail I receive. It's all a matter of how you set the sensitivity of the Entourage junk mail filter.Reply to This
