I had to see for myself, so I D/L'ed Quicken 2004 and *none* of the outstanding bugs from 2002-2003 are fixed! Amazing. I did, unlike one reviewer, have scrollwheel support within the register, but NOT within splits - using the scroll wheel will take you out of the split and scroll merrily down the register - very annoying! (Although I *guess* that is better than in Quicken 2003, where using a scroll wheel in a split would more often than not cause a unexpected quit!) Let's see, what else? File format is changed and is not compatible with Pocket Quicken, the manual re-entry of investment info, CMD-A does not select all in a field (like all good Mac programs should) - it opens accounts instead (this KB inconsistency has been around since Quicken 1998!). iCal posting of bills due is a very nice feature if I used iCal too bad Intuit did not consider the goodly number of Mac users who use Entourage! Sure you could AppleScript a work-around but I should not have to work that hard! Maybe when Intuit reads all the negative consumer comment they will get off their collective a$$es and allocate developer resources to fixing the long-standing consumer complaints! If only Modeless Software's Liquid Ledger did Checkfree & Electronic banking we would have a serious competitor for Intuit (and maybe that is what Intuit needs!) So, for now, I’ll stick with Quicken 2003 and wait and see what intuit does. IMHO, anyone with Quicken 2002 or 2003 should not bother with Quicken 2004. It will be interesting to see, however, if Intuit will force users to upgrade to Quicken 2004 in order to import their data into TurboTax 20004 (Tax Year 2003) - that would be a VERY dirty trick and I really hope that NO ONE at Intuit is even contemplating doing this!
