Gordon is a decompiler, meaning that you can reverse SWF movies (even import-protected movies) and browse scripts, frames, graphics, sounds, buttons, layers and symbols. In comparison, the Flash editor is limited to non-protected movies and flattens movies into a single layer, losing most scripts in the process.
On the downside, the timeline is very slow and browsing a movie is more difficult than it should be. The reversed scripts are a bit buggy and requires some knowledge of actionscripts in order to make them run in your own code.
The price is maybe a bit steep but overall, Gordon pays back by itself after a few uses and is very useful to explore how features are implemented without browsing through tutorials, expensive books and forums.
