The author of this software ought to look at "Library' to see what additional features need applying. Being able to populate the image field is important, as is being able to search more than just Amazon UK. Maybe I'm alone, but my interest in a catalogue app is the complete catalogue, not the individual entries, so to have the app lauch directly into an individual book's field rather than the complete list is an extra step I'd rather not take. And on top of that, there's no button in the toolbar to take me there!

This app has more fields than Library, and seems to lauch and save faster (though I've many more books saved to Library to honestly rate the speed) and it a better price, but without better ability to automatically add info from different sites or through a "batch" option, it will never be of any use to me.

And just how does the Import/Export work anyway? What is it exporting? What can it import?

Re: Still needs work - Chris Karr

Other users have requested that I look into including other databases when populating fields. I've very interested in this, so if you have any databases that you would like this application to communicate with, please send me the names to books@aetherial.net.

Regarding the "Complete View" for the collection, I agree. There is a limited version of this under the "Collection" menu, but I do intend to beef it up. What types of fields would you like to see in the collection display?

Regarding the import / export options, these use a specific XML format that I've been using to store my data. If you are interested in the format, view ~/Library/Books/books.xml. I realize that the import and export options at the moment is rather useless, but the idea is to expand that in later versions.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this application. If you have any more questions or comments, please e-mail them to me at books@aetherial.net.
