Even if there are bogus reviews here, does it really matter?

I mean, people will see the 5 stars, try it (it is shareware after all, it won't cost them anything), and decide for themselves if they want to purchase it or not. If they don't like it and don't want to buy it, they haven't lost anything.

VersionTracker doesn't rank software listings by user reviews. The star rating has no actual effect on the software's place in the listings. I would understand you ranting on if Speed Download's authors were in some way benefiting from artificially high user ratings, but I can't see how they can be.

I purchased it. I'm very happy with it. I have already rated it 5 stars, I think it is worth the price and I'm still very much satisfied with the product. I think, CV, you need to credit people with a little intelligence. However good your intentions are, I'm sure that people here can make up their own minds and don't need you making it for them.

A note to SD's authors: Don't validate this joker's comments with any kind of response. I can understand if you are frustrated by his obvious inadequacies, but I implore you not to respond to him. Unlike him, treat your (potential) customers with a little respect. Trust them not to be lead like sheep, but make their own decisions.

Give it a rest CV. - mondomac

A voice of reason, thank you! I report "CV" as I do anyone who turns this site into their personal weblog. What a moron.
