How to fix

Feedback Type:  Usage Tip

Contributed by: Maelman Friday, August 22 2003 @ 07:10 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: YES

The installer installs the plugin into /Library/Internet Plug-ins. You need to copy the files "flashplayer.xpt" and "Shockwave Flash NP-PPC" from that folder to /Users/-your user name-/Library/Internet Plug-ins/. Then restart your brower. The reason this is a problem is that the internet plugins in your user folder override the system wide ones, so having an older version in there overrides the newer one.

Thanks. Now it works. But what a dumb installer that doesn't put files where they can work.

How to fix - RAngol

It only "worked" because of a conflict. If you had *all* your plug-ins in /Library you'd have no problems and would be better off in the future.
