Limewire vs iSwipe? Speaking of spyware...

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOS

Used Product For: One Week

Recommend Product: YES

The way I understand it, Limewire for Windoze used to have spyware in it. Don't know if it still does. The Mac version has never had any.

However, I just noticed the other day that when I'm connected using iSwipe but neither searching nor voluntarily exchanging any files, there is nevertheless a *lot* of stuff coming into my machine in a steady stream according to IPNetMonitor.

I don't know what it is, and I don't know where it's going exactly, much less what it's doing in my Macs. I haven't used iSwipe since. Anyone else getting this effect?

Limewire vs iSwipe? Speaking of spyware... - thekurt

iSwipe listens on Port 6000 and juggles more ports than NSA.

Most "free" software is not free. Users always pay something whether they have been made aware or not.

IPNetMonitor blocks the port it listens on, btw. Those rascals.

IPNetMonitor? Uh, it blocks nothing. Maybe you mean something else, I hope.
