Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: One Week

Recommend Product: NO

I just figured out how to use the new Quark:

1) Open your version 6 file and save it down to version 5.
2) Open your version 5 file and save it down to version 4.
3) Convert your version 4 file to InDesign.

Flawless!

Got It! -

I need to convert a 6.0 quark file to 4.11. I do not have quark 5.0. What can I do?

JDeans,

I'm sorry I didn't notice your question sooner. I haven't checked this message board lately. I'm not confident that I can help. You can send the file to me and I can try to save it down, but I'm not sure that is convenient for either of us.

Let me know (info@mibadesign.com).

Bests,

Got It! - tired & grumpy

An extension called Markztools 5.5 from Markzware converts QXP 6 files to QXP 4 within the QXP 4 application. Works most of the time, but it's not always pretty. Sure beats redoing it. Which I had to do to the four (unfortunately large and detailed) projects I worked on before I grabbed a clue and realized that QXP 6 wasn't just being quirky it was garbage! I couldn't believe it when I opened a file and half the text was invisible with no way to make it visible again! Markztools 5.5 $199 US ($99 upgrade). http://www.markzware.com. buy it then never open QXP 6 again. InDesign opens QXP 4 files.
