It's buggy, it's WAAY too expensive, it's feature-poor, the artwork is mindboggling terrible, the printed output absolutely sucks... all in all it's an abortion. And yet it is strangely great. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that compares with SBQ when it comes to knocking out a storyboard in half an hour flat. Well, okay, actually a pencil and paper is a lot better and a lot quicker, but if you can't draw, this is it. But don't say I didn't warn you about how freakin' TERRIBLE this software is. A pity, because about four weeks of work would make it much more useable.
The add-on libraries are a total ripoff, but you probably need them. I wouldn't bother with the character libraries, but the props are useful.

Terrible, but great - marmaladewanker
The huge irony of this particular capsule review from 2003 is that it's 2008 now and yet this review is still strangely TRUE! The app is buggy as - - - k! It's slow. It crashes. The UI is beyond pathetic. No "tool tips," and the extra libraries are a total rip. But, yet, as stated, when it works, it's very useful. I'm a total non-artist so the pencil-and-paper route isn't even an option for a writer-director like myself. I wonder if there's even a competitor to this product? Anyway, rock on.Reply to This
