The end of Quark

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: One Day

Have been using Quark 6 for a FULL DAY now and feel more than qualified to say that version 6 most definitely represents the end of Quark on the Mac. In the simplest terms, "We waited two years for this?" Version 6 is VERY sluggish and quite buggy. Doesn't open some of my legacy documents, and several of the standard features that I used frequently in version 5 are gone. For example, now instead of Open Publisher you have to DOWNLOAD an extension called "Edit Original" just to be able to double-click a picture and have it open in PhotoShop. They call this progress? And don't even get me started about the insanely complex registration and validation procedure.

Good Bye Quark. You've secured InDesign's success with your "version 6".
