When will developers realize that 10.2 (Jaguar) has been accepted by a very small minority of Mac OS users and even OS X users!! There are many Macs that can not run 10.2 because of slower processors, RAM limitations, slow buses and not video card support! Some of us will not progress past 10.1.5 because Jaguar is just too damn sloooooow.
iPhoto is probably a fine application, but non-OS 10.2 users will never know. Wake up developers!

Few actually use 10.2! - ajung
Agreed. I find that 10.2 is a lot faster than 10.1 on our iMac. (a grape one at that.)Oh well...

Using an iBook 600MHz G3 with 8MB V-RAM (the slowest processor approved for the OS 10.3 Panther required 'Garage Band') I find Jaguar significantly more responsive that my clean install of 10.1.5 had been, way back in the dark ages of early 2003. 10.2.8 is not fast, but it is certainly faster than 10.1.5.OS X 10.1.5 worked well, but faster? ~not~
Where'd you come up with that rap; dude? I'm curious. Seriously; do tell.
I'm soon to upgrade to Panther, but only after the Palm Desktop for Mac issues get straightened out. I'm anxious to try Safari 1.2 which requires 10.3 Panther.
Anybody out there know the speed hit I may take (or the speed increase) using this little G3 with Panther?
I probably never try to install 10.4 on the little iBook that could, but we'll cross that bridge whe we get to it.

I run 10.3.3 on my PB G3 Bronze Keyboard 333MHz. It works better than Jag which was better than 10.1 which was better than 10.0 which was better Public Beta. Yes I've tried them all on that little machine and they keep getting faster while introducing more and more features. Sure, I don't quartz extreme and when I change users I don't get the rotating cube animation, but it works well. I don't know where people get off saying that 10.2 is slower than 10.1. That is patently untrue and obviously so to even the most casual observer.Saturday, March 27 2004 @ 09:07 PM PST

your usual comment, blueskymining! - ende

Uhhh,I hate to sound like your Dad dude, but there are a lot of people still using OS 9, 8, 7, etc. - should the developer be 'responsible' for those people not using the latest, most refined version of the OS? Should he 'wake up' and make his work backward-compatible with Lisas? I think not. Rather, you should understand that many of the capabilities in newer software are there because of new capabilities in the OS. Every single Mac sold right now comes with Jaguar, and a lot of 10.0/10.1 users HAVE upgraded. Comments based on your Apple System Profiler profile are inane. Upgrade. Or zip it.
