LeonardShelby -- I don't understand how people utterly fail to get the following point: The scope of relevance of your price opinion is YOU and ONLY YOU. BBEdit may not be worth $179 to YOU but it certainly may be to a software engineer that spends 8 hours a day in it, and for whom it's the perfect tool. On the other hand, if it's unstable then the relevance of that extends beyond you.
You're rating a product on VT presumably to assist other people, so please rate the product on things that have a relevance _beyond yourself_ (like stability, support, etc.)

Certainly I agree that support and stability are very important when judging a product, but they are not the only criteria. Considering the number of posts regarding the cost of BBEdit, I think it is clear that price is a serious consideration that extends beyond my own experiences. Indeed, even VT recognizes the importance of a product's price, by allowing users to give Price its own star rating when adding a Review.Reply to This
