You have to select the timer you want to modify. Since you can have multiple running timers at the same time, be sure to click on the timer you want to pause or stop, then click the pause or stop button.

Thanks. I thought that the timer was selected since it had a light blue background, but I now realize that it was not selected automatically, and I had to click on it once to select it (and the blue background got darker).
I love the interface, and will give it another try. Still, I much prefer the timer in A & E Tracker Plus, but this interface is nicer :)
