*never* wrote in! and there were *no* instructions to ignore.. please check your assumptions.. i downloaded what VersionTracker offered, it came with no documentation.. i checked the developer's website, and saw no documentation, just an FAQ which didn't relate to what i was seeing.. i did notice the FAQ says "before emailing read the documentation", but it doesn't say where to find the documentation! suppose it is only found in the "full" installer?
so it seems VersionTracker linked to the updater, not the full installer.. perhaps this was VersionTracker's mistake.. even so, if you don't include the least bit of documentation on the website, and if you provide software (updater or not) which automatically loads offensive webpages, you should expect negative reactions from potential customers
suggestions: 1) enclose a meaningful readme with the updater, 2) drop the threatening webpage stuff
