This BS "update" by Dantz furthered my resolve to finding a new solution (see my earlier rant). Looks like I was successful. I downloaded the demo of
Personal Backup X, and confirmed it does exactly what I need it to do, exactly what Retrospect Desktop 5 never did (back up to network shares). Mind you PBX is extremely quirky, and full of bugs BUT at least I can get around its limitations with less frustration than for RD AND get results.
Goodbye forever, Dantz. Thanks for waking me up with this overpriced 5.1 update. I'm off to pay for the 2nd crappiest software I've ever bought only because yours is the 1st.
PS it might be of interest to those here who have been frustrated with Retrospect's archane user interface, which is very unfriendly to most users, that PBX is quite a bit better, although still not very Mac-like.

Check out Personal Backup X - WoodyO1
I wouldn't rush to purchase Personal Backup X. It worked quite well for me until I installed OS 10.2. It no longer runs even with the simplist of scripts. I have reinstalled it two additional times and even re-downloaded and installed it. Emails to support@intego.com go unanswered and no one will answer their telephone. I fear that Personal Backup X is an unsupported product.Reply to This
