I've been keeping my recipes in an ancient classic app called Amy's Recipes. Unforrtunately, that one's never coming to OS X, and I was ready to move on. I checked into the different recipe programs that are available, downloaded and tried them out -- but none that I tried could do a clean import from Amy's Recipes.

With CookWare Deluxe, I was especially annoyed because the demo version wouldn't even let me try importing. I had an inkling, though, that it might work for me. So, I emailed the programmer, once even attaching a small sample export file from my old software, asking him if his program could handle the import.

Well, I tried twice and he never responded at all.

I ended up reluctantly buying this software, because it's the best I found, but of course, after buying, I discovered the import wouldn't handle the Amy's Recipes format after all. I had to manually move almost 1000 recipes. Ugly. It would have been nice if the programmer had bothered to respond to me -- even if he had just said "no, sorry," I would have likely bought this software anyway, and had a much more positive feeling about paying for it.

Good Software but No Response to Emails - mitchbar

My policy is to respond to all inquiries. This could be a problem with your spam filter being turned up too high or maybe you wrote someone else thinking it was me.
