I hope the price tag on this is a typo. Why would anyone pay $500 for a piece of software that is inferior to software availble for free? Am I missing something?

I'm not aware of any "software that is superior to this software that is free." Clearly, you don't have a need for this kind of software, or you'd now that Barcode Producer PDF417 is quite a bit cheaper than Windows-based counterparts that do the same thing -- except not as well, and not on a Mac.
