Just so we are clear, the reason this game and so many others cross platform games are not network compatible with PC's is because Microsoft has proprietary network software that is unavailable on Macintosh.

No Mac / PC Compatability - mgldan

True enough, but the main reason, according to former Westlake President Glenda Adams, is that new Mac characters would get trounced on the established PC servers. PC users have just had a lot more time with the game, and they've all leveled up considerably. Limiting Mac users to their own servers allows everyone an equal start.
