This developer wrote this software, most likely to solve some problem they were having. They graciously made it available at no cost to anyone else having similar needs.

Where do you get the idea that someone working in their spare time owes you somethig? What motivates you to take the time to complain about somone giving you something for nothing?

If that something does not meet your needs, you would be better served by offering some constructive feedback

People like you cause programmers to quit making their contributions public. I say put up or shut up. If you can do better, then do it. if not, be grateful other people are trying.
