I Just ran the Hard Drive Update and it completely destroyed my HardDisk!!

I rebooted to OS 9, Ran the updater (which finished with a finder crash). Following the instructions, I rebooted my computer and my Disk was gone!
DiskUtility finds the drive and says it's zero (0) bytes!!!

DONT USE IT!!!!!

DONT USE IT!!!!!!!!! - Jeff Mincey

I can appreciate what you have gone through in regard to your loss of data, but since you give a one-star rating to ALL categories -- including ease of use and support (and not just to the area which comes to bear on your particular problem), why should I not conclude that you are just throwing a tantrum and pointing fingers at Apple when you should look at YOURSELF (if you failed to heed Apple's well published warnings and advice to back up your data first)?

Okay... - thajeztah

Okay, maybe I shouldn't have given 1 star to all categories... however,

1) I did backup most of the data on my drives..
2) The updater does -not- tell me -which- drive it's going to update, or let me decide which drive I want to update (if it did, It would have allowed users to 'swap' important data between drives, update the firmware and put the data back etc.

3) And this one is my biggest problem.... the drive has become unusable. I cannot mount, repair or even -format- the drive!
