Two features still missing... It would be nice if a generic "View by Label" would work and STAY active after one closes windows / Restarts etc. I use to have the first level of my Hard Drive window opening in Label order on OS9 in the old days with various folders in the order required. How I miss that in Labels X. Also why can't we colour icons such as the Hard Drive icon etc. like OS9? Is this a limitation in Jaguar? One step forwards, two steps back perhaps? Overall though, a nice app but painfully missing the above from OS9

It's not fair to compare LabelsX with the implementation of labels in Mac OS 9. In Mac OS 9, this was all part of the OS. In Mac OS X, LabelsX has to modify system-wide behaviors, and I'm sure there are limits to what they can do without compromising stability. As a rule, if you miss a behavior in Mac OS 9, tell Apple, because Mac OS X makes it a lot more difficult to modify these behaviors.Friday, June 13 2003 @ 07:28 PM PDT
