You can also use textedit to join pdf files> open new document drage -n- drop pdf documents () command+p, the print dialog window will apperar choose the option to save as a pdf.

TextEdit - bfr00

Attempting to drag and drop a PDF document into an empty TextEdit window doesn't work for me. How did you get this to work?
